Dappled Light on Moor Brook, Dartmoor

Moor Brook, a crystal-clear moorland stream flows down from Dartmoor, past Lower Halstock Farm, and into the East Okement River at West Cleave. The steeply wooded valley is one of the most peaceful locations I know; with small tumbling cascades, deep pools flanked with mossy boulders, lichen-clad branches, evergreen holly bushes and bushy green ferns.

For those of you who want to experience it for themselves, take a look at “The Ernest Bassett Walk” (named after a founding member of the Dartmoor Rescue Group). The walk conveniently starts and ends in the neighbouring town of Okehampton.
