My name is Miles, and I am privileged to live and work in the beautiful county of Devon in South West England.

During the day, I am the Technical Director of an electronic publishing firm. This involves long hours on my Apple Mac coding web sites, advising clients or reading up on the latest legislation and technologies.

In my spare time I love to escape into the verdant Devon, Cornwall and Somerset countryside. Just me and my camera (with maybe one of the kids in tow). Luckily the West Country has much to offer with its beautiful sandy beaches, rugged cliffs and crashing seas, postcard-perfect villages, deep wooded valleys, undulating hills, wild and windswept moorland through to historic buildings and narrow, winding lanes!

I used to use Olympus kit, but after an unfortunate incident on Dartmoor I have recently sold up my remaining equipment and made the switch to Canon:

Canon 40D
17-85mm IS USM Lens
Hoya UV and Polarising Filters
Hahnel Shutter Releae
Cokin P Filters
Giottos Tripod and Head

I always shoot in RAW and post-process my photographs with Adobe Lightroom 2 and Adobe Photoshop CS4, with some experimentation in PT Lens and Photomatix (for HDR).

You may have noticed that this isn't a run-of-the-mill installation of Pixelpost. Being a web developer I have customised it very heavily, adding new functionality and improving upon the existing code. The biggest change is the addition of SEO friendly URLs and the ability to view collections of photographs by date, tag or category. With a bit of luck you'll also find my site ranked highly in Google :-)
